Ummul kher

Born in Pali Malwar of Rajasthan. Her father was a street vendor who used to sell cloths on street. they live in a slum area . from her childhood she was suffering from fragile bone disorder. From her childhood she was neither physically nor financially strong. But she loved to  study.  She got inspired from APJ Abdul Kalam, Lal Bahadur Shastri , Abraham Linkon. While in class II, she read about Netaji Suvash Chandra Bose in a book. She read how father of Netaji told him to be an Ias officer . But netaji did not want to do that since already he comitted his life was  for nation's freedom stuggle. At that moment his father told him that he can not be an ias officer since he had not those qualities. This small line knocked Ummul's mind very much. She understood that may be the ias officer job is very much challanging. so she attracted towards that. Then she set her goal to become an IAS Officer.
During her school days she felt happy by thinking  that she can go to school, she can continue her studying. She studied in Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Institute for the Physically Handicapped till standard V. Then she studied in Amar Jyoti Charitable organisation, till class VIII. At that time Her mother passed away. Her father and step mother told her to leave school. She had got more than enough education already. They told that its not necessary for a girl to read so much. A girl forget to respect elders if she study more, she get modern. When she decided to continue her study, she was  disowned by her family. Ummul finally took the decision to leave home and live alone in Jhuggi Jhopri (JJ) Cluster, Trilokpuri. When a girl use to live alone in society people thinks negatively . Same thing happened with Ummul. She started giving tuitions to slum children to run her study continue. From 3 pm to 11 pm she continously took tutions of 4 batches.  In class XII, she got 91% and secured admission into Delhi University. She continued to take tuitions . She also got money by winning debate competitions in college. She graduated in Psychology . In 2012, she met a small accident and was confined to a wheelchair for a year due to her bone disorder. After graduation, she cleared JNU entrance exam for master’s in International Studies. She was now getting Rs 2,000 means-cum-merit scholarship. In 2013, she cracked the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) under which she started getting Rs 25,000 per month. She cleared the UPSC civil services exam in her very first attempt and got AIR 420. She started preparing for upsc exam from january 2016. Instead of reading many books she focus on limited books but did maximum revision. She told  make a idea of a topic after reading it. "Instead of writing an ans in bookish language add something from current situation and write the ans. Try to be craetive. It will  make your ans different from others."
According to her if we decided to do something, then give our 100 % effort towards it. we should not do any compromise towards completing it. otherwize it shows disrespect of the work and also our time will waste.  In a message towards new generation she told dt whatever she gained in life its only because of her study. If she stoped reading then now she would be in another situation . She would earn money from selling cloth or vessels. So she advised that one should give dedication towards his/her study. Also one should be very clear about his/her goal. Should have burning desire.
